Where to start on a points system for users?

I am developing a site where users sign in with there facebook acc.

I would like to be able to award the users points fr doing certain things on the site.

Where would i start with this?

Your keyboard...j/k...that's kind of a broad question. As with any app, spend some time planning first. Think about what types of information you will need to store in the database. thanks for the reply. I plan on doing that today a large or small spider diagram of what i really need from this app.

I think this will help me program it better.

Elliot Haugins facebook wrapper didnt seem to work when i tried it. There where a lot of errors that i couldnt fix :/
