how to use different layouts

Hi,

i use a base-Controller (MY_Controller). There i placed the main layout for the whole site. On a few pages i want to use another layout with a sidebar. how is the best way to handle this?

Should i change the template by the Controller name?

i use one view and want to use another view with a sidebar on some pages. this 2 views i want to change
