Strange symbols

I get these

"Lawson�s first us"

Strange symbols for single quote and double quote.

I've posted these variables using CI methods.

Problem is when I get these values back..I get like this..

Where is the problem.

Its probably the character encoding. Always use UTF-8 over ISO.

[eluser]Pygon[/eluser]
It would be my guess that you are copying from a Microsoft Office product and pasting to CI -- atleast, this happens to me quite often. Office doesn't use the tick/double-tick marks, but uses html markup lquot, rquot, apos (the slanted versions of tick/double tick we're used to seeing).
