Hi,

One drawback of PHP 5.3 is lack availability on shared hosting. GoDaddy, Mediatemple for example support up to 5.2.6 in their shared hosting plan.

FuelPHP sounds good if your app run on VPS where you can install whatever version of PHP you like.
