Issue with uri segment

Hello Friends,

I have big issue with uri segment. Whenever i try to access uri segment, "." always get converted to "_" any reason why ?

[eluser]John_Betong_002[/eluser]
Please supply the script which is not working...

...and don't forget to wrap the script in code tags.
