SOLVED - Working on 2 sites, same domain, need to duplicate base folders?

Hi everyone - long time since I've been here
I got side-tracked with death of my dad
but I'm back and eager to re-learn CI
Grief erased some things I already learned
so forgive me if I ask dumb question/s again
(and yes, I'm also re-reading my old posts for answers)

i used "Softaculous" to install CI
I plan to follow the videos first, then the Tutorials

here is where I ran into problem

CI got installed on my online hosting account at

/home/abc/public_html/store1

Then i moved the system and application folders in

/home/abc/

and left the index.php in the store1 directory,
I also updated the url configs in this page

so far, so good (the welcome page still shows fine)

now i want to work on another site (a real one, not a learning site)

in /home/abc/public_html/store2

so far I know that, obviously, "store2" has to have the CI index.php file in it

but ...

do i need to create a second "application" folder, and a "system" folder?
or could the second site share these 2 folders as is, where they are?

and

if I have to create a second "application" folder, will i need to give it
a new name, and leave in same directory where original is now?

ps: in the past I never asked this because I only worked on 1 site, but now i got 1 site to follow tutorials, and a second site for an actual site on working on now
