Form Validation - Umlauts
#1

Hi everbody,

I'm trying to do some form validation. Because I'm a german guy I need to paste umlauts like "ä,ö,ü" in some form fields. These fields are only required. When I am filling in some umlauts in a form field and try to submit, this field gets cleared and I get an error message ("field is required"). Without umlauts the form is working great. Everything is set to utf-8. The content-type charset, database, config and so on...

Does somebody know anything about this issue? Would be great if someone could help a bit.

Hello there,

I did it my self now. There was a problem with inserting form data into the database which included umlauts like 'äöü'.
I checked every part of my installation for utf-8 and everything seemed to be ok. Now I uploaded everything to my webserver and now it's working fine. Don't know why, but it seems that there is a problem with utf-8 on a local machine like mamp. So keep in mind Smile

Best regards
Stevans
