SOLVED! jquery - code not executing inside $.post function

Ok.. wouldn't that prevent a response from the php? (which is responding as expected). FWIW i haven't upgraded to CI 2 yet so AFAICT this isn't implemented anyway?

This thing is driving me mad.. why won't it work?!
