ORM options in Code Igniter

A friend and me are setting up for a project and he wants to check out ORM for CodeIgniter. I must say I agree, so we are looking around.

As far as I see there are two ways to go: Datamapper and IgnitedCode. Both don't seem to have all that recent releases.

My question: What do you use, why and what do you recommend? We are not biased towards anything yet at this time.

In the last part of his post he suggests some ORMs - which is datamapper for the CI framework.
