Switching from Mercurial to GIT

[eluser]Johan André[/eluser]

When Codeigniter moved to Bitbucket I created a workflow for creating new sites. Basically it involves using a subrepository for the framework so it's easily to update it when bugfixes/new features come along.

Now when Codeigniter moved to Github, I wonder if there is something like subrepositories in GIT?

I don't want to download a copy of the framework and replace files manually. Also, the great thing with the Mercurial-setup was that the framework-files does not reside in my repo, making it smaller...

Anyone have the answer? Smile
