get and manipulating table from html file

Anyone can help me please,

can we get and manipulating table from html file, for example I've file like data.htm in which there is data arranged in tables, can we take these data with the table too, and maybe we like the sort of data manipulation to date data, largest to smallest or vice versa for numbers.

whether querypath or jQuery HTML Manipulation can resolve this issue with?
