Last hosting thread I saw was from 2009. It's now almost 2012.
Hey everyone. I'm about to launch a project - built with CI of course - and I need to switch hosts pretty much by tomorrow so everything is switched over before the launch. (launching saturday).
I have a problem.. I'm with 1and1. I'm growing tired of their hosting. Can anyone provide me a great host with these features: (basic functionality)
PHP, MySQL, Email,
cPanel,
SSH, FTP. Truely basics really.
I see a few like bluehost (which I'm kinda leaning towards), justhost (makes me feel cheap), and a few others.
I am building this project to be a heavy usage site. The databases will need to be big. I hate these stupid limits and false numbers such as "unlimited databases, unlimited space, unlimited etc."
I know the cheaper it is, the more headaches it will cause. I also don't want to jump onto someones reseller package as then I won't have a companies reliability.
What hosting do you recommend? I'm looking for a sound hosting plan. Many thanks for your input in advance.
1and1, godaddy, and hostgator are not options.
Edit: Seamless upgrade would be a nice feature
