Global Variable

I'm building a website and I would like to store different messages in a global variable.

An example of the message I'm talking about is
'And Error occurred. Please <a href="">contact us</a>';

There are numerous forms in the site and it might be better to store the generic messages in a variable for easy updating.

Any advice would be most appreciated.
