Very short URLs in CI - is it possible?

Hello,

I building my home website. I have simple frontend, but backend have many tools for me. So I decided to use CI.

I want make very simple frontend URLS for example:

I have few views in controller "home":

http://localhost/home/about_me
http://localhost/home/contact
http://localhost/home/books
http://localhost/home/news

or
http://localhost/home/news/15 /* it's shows news from db with id=15 */

And I want make routing for my views like:

http://localhost/about_me
http://localhost/contact
http://localhost/books
http://localhost/news
http://localhost/news/15

Is it possible? I looking for many posts and find nothing for me...
