CodeIgniter and PHPCloud

Hello All,
I'm building an application/website on PHPCloud and currently trying to connect to the database available to me. Unfortunately I am getting the following error:

A Database Error Occurred

Unable to connect to your database server using the provided settings.

Filename: core/Loader.php

Line Number: 268

Has anyone else had any issues with PHPCloud and database connections? I've followed the instructions here but it doesn't seem to like it.
