Best approch of building-> 'customize your laptop & buy' page ?

Hi everyone,

When buying a laptop online from Hp,Dell...etc, we usually get to the page 'customize and buy' ..

I wonder , what is the best approach to build such a tool with codeigniter? I did not find any tutorial about this idea...

Now I am not going to build it nor am I interested in that. I meant, the general idea of building something like that would it be a database based or xml ..etc.

Well it would be more of an customers, categories, products, pricing shopping cart etc type of database
and tables

Database would be the way to go for an application like this.

Forms to collect the users entered data.
