integration of twig with codeigniter

Can anybody tell me how we can implement twig with codeigniter.I am not talking about the installation. I want to access controller's function by twig function also can any one suggest procedure for creating the custom function in twig.Actually I am gone through the twig documentation but it is difficult for me to understand that.
