I must say I have used CodeIgniter and find it a major player on Frameworks especially when it come modulability, No one would like a framework which does automagic all the way like Yii, been on the Yii IRC channel and it seems to hae a growing audience but nothing closer to CI.
Your auction application would do best with CI ! Im in a process of building an Open ID application to work with FaceRecon.
