Codeigniter download for production environment

Hi,

I would like to use codeigniter in an application. Where can I download a latest and stable release as I think there is a stable release(CI 2.1.0) in the codeigniter website. But there is a different release in the github(https://github.com/EllisLab/CodeIgniter). I am developing a commercial application and this will be used in the production environment. Please let me know which is the best place to download.

Yes. Can you suggest if it is a good idea to use the codeigniter framework on github as it has got the latest updates.

Github contains Beta code. You may use it, but be prepared to apply updates later, which doesn't make a lot of sense for a "production" environment. If you want to use "bleeding edge" code, be prepared to apply bandages. Customers may not appreciate this.

If you want to experiment with CI's next version, or contribute to it's development, by all means use Github code and stay ahead of the curve. Just be sure you know which version you are selling to a customer.
