file uploading

hi, i code a simple site with CI which use the upload feature.
it works fine and got no problem at all in localhost.
but when i upload the project to web hosting, the upload won't work.

it gave me error "The filetype you are attempting to upload is not allowed."

i tried it in localhost with the same file, the file can be uploaded without getting error..

any suggestion?

Have you checked the file permission(it should be 777) to where the image is going to get upload.

If you r using FTP right click on the folder to where ur image is going to get upload (for example: user_image)
1. Right click on the folder "user_image" and choose permission

2. There u have to give read write and execute permission by checking all the check box in it

or simply type 777 in the text box appeared in the pop up and save

yes u r correct

type 777 instead of 755 and press ok

nothing changes.. i still get the error messages. i tried to re-check the ftp application, and it is still 755 not 777 although i have changed it.
