It shocks me how many people have this problem. This is one of the very first things you should learn if you're interested in PHP. The opening tag is the very first thing on the page, and the closing tag is unnecessary unless you need to output/process something ELSE besides PHP.

To see if you have white space at the begging or ending just highlight the lines and it will show up.

And never use the closing php tag...
