What do you consider as the 'best'?

What features are you looking for? Do you want it feature packed or to have better documentation?

You will need to give more information for somebody to advise you on what is the 'best'.

For me personally it would be my small solution here [http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/223232/], I doubt you would agree though!

I use Twig in all of my projects. Its pretty fast, has good syntax and full functionality. Wrote a custom wrapper library to make it easier to use. Check it out here Twig Template Engine

I also prefer a full template engine like smarty , raintpl or twig over the default CI template system.
