Updated Tutorials?

Hey there!
I recently started with Codeigniter and finished the core of the User Guide.
Now I was looking for some more tutorials and also worked with some of them. Halfway through I noticed that those were outdated.
I'm mainly looking for "Building a website from scratch" kind of tutorials and only found this one so far: http://heybigname.com/2011/07/28/codeign...tallation/
It's looking good but it differs from the user guide and im kinda confused atm.
What is the right way to build up the site? (espcially the model)
