Best way to pull off a "success" message?

How can I download the SVN of CI 1.6? (I never used SVN).
Also what I am after right now is the flashdata session in 1.6.
Can I just copy the session.php file from System/Libraries in SVN and overwrite the old from 1.5.4?
Will that get me the function needed?
