CI and EE2 to make ebay
#1

I am a php novice programmer and I have learned basic CI and EE2 recently.

I bought the EE licence to learn it 2weeks ago, but I am now confusing which one would be

easier to render the website like ebay or amazon.

I can draw the project outlines with CI but it looks really huge,

while I doubt whether I can create some customised functions like

membership upgrades with credits.

What I am worrying is if I got some obstacles, I wonder if I can customise EE as I do in CI.

I hope to get some advices.

EE is built upon CI so EE has the power and backbone of CI but EllisLab has done a lot of the heavy lifting by creating the libraries, helpers, models and etc for EE.

EE is made with the designer in mind to quickly build functional websites without complex coding that a CI application would require, such as an authentication library, administrative interface and etc.

All that being said, if EE has the majority of the features you would need for your site; it may be easier to customize an EE installation than starting from scratch with CI.

Hope that helps.
