Ask about ci session class

Hello guys. I dont understand that why CI use cookie to store their session data.
Why not PHP Session ? And size limit per one cookie record is 4kb but CI still store all session data in just one cookie record ?

Hi,

Your not forced to use CI Session you can use PHP native sessions if you wish.

Not if you use the CI database sessions then only the session id and some common data is stored in the session cookie nothing else.
