Do you think .co is a viable domain name as a replacement for registering a .com?

.co is a pretty recent addition and obviously .co has been marketed as a great general domain extension to use - and obviously they want .co to be as popular as .net or another gTLD (generic top level domain) is. So, say if your domain name wasn't available (as .com is very saturated), would you alternatively consider looking at registering the same with the .co domain extension? What do you think? Obviously the primary disadvantage is .co is a ccTLD (country-code top level domain). More shorter domain names are obviously available with the .co domain extension.
