I am a newcomer in codeigniter and would like to learn to use the tool.
With the example of the blog could very superficially understand the concept, but did not understand the integration with the database, I think that with this system of news and shows a simple use of various resources such as insert, select and update the database, use of forms and several others.

I suggest a discussion of the idea, who wants to comment.

There are several systems of gender ready but found none that covers up some or all of the appeal.

Did you look at the video tutorials?

Yes I saw, but did not understand how it would be applied for example to the system of news.

I am citing the example of the system of news because includes several features such as mentioned above.

With more examples Starter is easier to use the tools.

I will watch the video again and perform new tests, thank you for your attention.

Leando, I have the same impressions about the videotutorials.

I´m looking for some full tutorial for to develop a real app, in a real world, with the basic functions.

I´m learning, but I´ve found a lot of ways to to the same things, but I don´t know which are the best ways to do it.

Gnite.

Welcome to the CodeIgniter community!

One of my favorite tutorials is one done by Derek Allard, which demonstrates how to build a single-page Ajax-enabled application. http://video.derekallard.com/. If you don't mind a more compressed video format, you can watch it on http://youtube.com:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Michael Wales did a tutorial that demonstrates how to use CodeIgniter: Drunk Edition; basically, he'd drunk an 18 pack of Coors. It's quite entertaining to watch. http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/62318/

Elliot Haughin has also done some tutorials. http://www.haughin.com/screencasts/

You can learn a lot from the User Guide, checking the forums, and generally asking questions. There's also a lot of source code around on the Web that you can pick to pieces and learn from. If you have any more specific questions, please feel free to ask. We like specific questions as opposed to generalised questions.

Unfortunately, you won't find much in the way of tutorials that hold your hand through making an entire application. As you can imagine, it would be very time consuming as there's simply so much to learn. Once you understand the underlying concepts of the CodeIgniter framework, everything else seems to fall into place.

Presumably Leandro's become a demon CI-coder in the past 12 months!

Have you looked through the quite excellent Bamboo Invoice system?

Fuzzy's right - you're not going to find tutorials that cover much beyond the few we've got - partly because it's a mammoth task (the Dereks suggested that just doing 'small ones' was pretty time-consuming), but mostly because it wouldn't help. Not really. Not like you would like to think it would. Smile

Bamboo Invoice is positively enormous, but the trick there will be to extract ideas, methods, patterns etc from the code base.

Keep in mind that there's at least one book written about CodeIgniter, and from memory it goes through the process of developing a web site from scratch - it's probably the closest there is to thing you want. Ah, here it is Professional CodeIgniter 2008, Thomas Myer. He builds a retail system for a kid's clothing store from scratch.

When I first started with CodeIgniter, I too was looking for more tutorials on the subject, so inspired by this post, I'm putting together a list of resources for everyone.

Thanks to everybody !
I´m feeling I´m not alone
Thanks guys !

I´m taking a piece of Bamboo, and working with the "clientcontact" part, just for to understand and try to apply this in my future with CI

I´m coming for some years of programme like the wind, LOL, but I want to do it like a professional.

Thanks for your time and patience.
