Cross-Domain Authorization using CI Sessions

Hello folks,

First time posting here, and a rather out there question.

I am attempting to build a launchpad of sorts for my companies intranet. The idea would be to allow a user to log in to the launch pad, and the link to all of the pre-existing admin portals where they would already be logged in.

Not sure if this is possible, but I'm going to try. You can find a StackOverflow question that I posted, maybe a little more detailed.

For subdomains you can set cookie domain in config/config.php file, I believe it was *.mydomain.com that made it work for multiple sub domains.

Are all the domains using same database?

If you can't host everything under one domain and subdomains, here's little insight how Facebook authentication works. A lot more work.
