Best way to upgrade from 1.3.3 to 1.6?

Hi,

I have a site I made in CI 1.3.3 a while back and I'd like to update it.

So, what would be the easiest/best way here? Do I have to do each upgrade, or can I just overwrite the files with 1.6 and do the latest one? Smile

You can pretty much batch replace all the files at one time, BUT make sure you go through the "upgrading" instructions for each version still. For example, in 1.5.4 the instructions say to add $config['charset'] = "UTF-8";, so you'll still want to do that. Also, backup, backup, backup Wink

If you weren't in a hurry to upgrade from 1.3.3 before, there's no sense in diving into a point-oh release. I'd sooner wait for 1.6.1 at the very least.

yeah, well I'm planning of implementing a user system with FreakAuth. Tested FreakAuth with 1.6 the other day and it works great, so I figgured the easiest way to do it would be to upgrade my site to 1.6 and then add FreakAuth :-)

Derek: yupp, I'll do my backups ;-)
