Receiving email with CodeIgniter?

Hi, I hope this question is not too basic as I am fairly new to codeigniter.

I am trying to figure out how to receive email with codeigniter using smtp. It seems the manual only shows how to send an email (and I have done this successfully) but nothing about receiving...

Can anyone give me a hint of where I could find this info? Thanks
