CI3-dev - Possible to extend Database drivers?

Hi,

I'm currently playing around with the dev version of CI3. Liking new features.

I trying to look for ways to extend database drivers (MySQL, MySQLi). For CI2, we have to override the database() method using MY_loader class extending CI_loader.

Do I still need to do it this way for CI3 or is there any other way, specifically for version 3?
