how to create a main template

I am new to codeigniter, i was finding ways to create template which will appear as a common across all views as normally we mean how template works.I followed here - http://williamsconcepts.com/ci/codeignit...rence.html but found error -

its seems it would be CI_Controller.Anyway plz tell me best step by step template creation articles

Probably, tutorial is describing and using old version of CodeIgniter.

Steps 6 and 7 should solve your problem, but read all.

Seems that Phill Sturgeon and John Scoumbourdis made their template CI addons.
