Problem with Error 404 page

Hello all!

I'm having a problem with my 404 error page on CI.

If the visitor goes to:

www.mysite.com/nonexistingpage

then the 404 error page loads as expected.

However, when visitor goes to:

www.mysite.com/nonexistingpage/anotherfakepage

then the 404 page doesn't load.

I have lot of old incoming links with the last url structure, and I can't redirect my visitors with my custom 404 page.

Please advise!
