I'd look into HMVC by wiredesignz. I think matchbox was abandoned many moons ago.

I have to use matchbox....
An old project ComUnion with Codeigniter 1.6.x was built with Matchbox...
I want to migrate the ComUnion from CI 1.6.x to CI 2.1.x...

Sincerely expect your advice and help

ComUnion is here:

There isn't a matchbox that works with CI 2+ as far as I know. The project was abandoned years ago. CI 1.6 is like 5 or 6 years old and a lot has changed in that time. The only thing that I know that does similar functionality and works in CI 2.1.4 is HMVC.

If you read the docs there, there are 2 ways to use that. One is "modular separation", which I believe is almost exactly what matchbox did and might not require many changes. The other is HMVC, which lets you have modularized controller/model/views.

Thanks a lot
I think HMVC is much easier than matchbox, as you say, it takes less changes than matchbox
