Sessions General Question

Hi All, Currently I use sessions on codeigniter 3.

With out using files or database. But I am not sure what would be more secure,

Any suggestions if I should have files or database or neither.

There's only one rule - please don't tell anyone to go and read the manual.  Sometimes the manual just SUCKS!

CI 3 uses native sessions so no need for db control now.
