Newbie Choosing 2.x or 3.x?
#1
Information

Hi there,

Im beginner with CodeIgniter, and I like it!
Im learning tutorials but I surprised CI has a new release a month ago, and of course no too much tutorial under CI 3

I need make a small CMS for a company, What do you recommend me? Start my new CMS under CI 3 with documentations only? or still using CI 2 with tutorials?

Regards,

My reply would be for you to make a company website in PHP or by using the framework that you are comfortable with. If you need tutorials, then you are not ready to create a website for a company Smile

Anyways... try my tutorials (http://avenir.ro). They are specifically made for CI3

The changes between 2.x and 3 aren't hugely significant. As you are going through older tutorials written for 2.x, just keep the changes in mind going from 2.x to 3.x found here:

3.0.... always go with the newest if its stable-ish, CI3 seems stable to me

I was developing a few sites with CI 2.0, and I kept running into some bugs that were holding back the site, I read through the changes for CI 3, and they were all fixed in CI 3.
