simon, the problem is that your Community Auth is not updated for use with CI 3.1.2+. I did the minimum to get it working to prove to you that you could log in, but if you would please start with a current version of Community Auth, it will work:

By the way, I changed your user password, so you will need to reset it if you want to try to login.

Thank you very much indeed! It never occurred to me that I'd to update Community Auth too, so that's a good lesson learned.

It's great to see it working and I'll copy what you've done to my local system and see if that helps with the orginal PHP warning. After seeing that the warning doesn't appear on the Digital Ocean setup, I think the most likely cause is some kind of server configuration issue. I might just forget trying to work locally with MAMP and use an actual server for development as I do with ASP.NET.

You're welcome. I just don't want anyone to ever think that Community Auth itself has a problem, so I help when I can.
