Upgrading from version 2.1.0 to 3.0.6
#1

Good day all.

I have an old version (2.1.0)  of codeigniter and I intend to upgrade to the current version (3.0.6) but I only see instruction on how to upgrade from the previous version to the current one (3.0.5 to 3.0.6).

Any help will be appreciated.

The general upgrading page has all of them ... http://www.codeigniter.com/user_guide/in...ading.html
From 2.1.0 to 2.1.1 (http://www.codeigniter.com/user_guide/in...e_211.html) would be the place to start.

Thank you for your reply.

I have seen the page, but the upgrade is 2.1.0 to 2.1.1 and so on. So how do I get to 3.0.6?

Note that the upgrade instructions say 2.2.x to 3.0.x, meaning you don't really have to go through all of them.

Though, if you had made the effort to at leask skim through most of the pages, you'd see it's not that much effort even if you went one version at a time.

The intent is that you go through each of the minor version upgrades in turn, in order to end up at the current version. Some of them involve simply replacing the CodeIgniter system folder, but others are more involved, hence Narf's suggestion.

Some developers will just install CI3, and start fresh with that, instead of upgrading version by version.
