However I am curious, what is the upgrade from 2.x to 3.x going to look like?  Is it going to be similar to past upgrades? Or are we talking about a whole bunch of new in a matter of speaking? I have a few projects in mind I want to start development on, but don't want to build knowing Im going to have to back peddle a lot to upgrade.

So download 3.0 and start your development now.  The only thing hanging right now is sessions and that can be worked around.  I am using 3.0 and sessions now.  There is no reason to avoid it unless you're employed by a business that limits what you can use.

The documentation for 3.0 is usable and can only get better.

Thanks so much James!

I've been using CI for several years, and I'm thrilled to hear that CI is finally moving forward once more!

Thanks to the PHP Town Hall podcast mentioning CodeIgniter in Episode 34!
