A few questions

I'm planning a configure your own CI mini site, for really lazy developers or developers that only want tp use they things they need, and browsing through the code i found a few odd things.

compat.php: ctype_alnum and ctype_digit functions are supported from php version 4.0.4 and the minimum required php version for CI is 4.3.2. So why are they added to the compat file?

Is the system/fonts directory only used by captcha plugin? If it is why isn't it in the application directory or in the plugins directory?

For some reason, we have encountered server environments where PHP has actually been compiled with the --disable-ctype flag. Bizarre, eh? The fonts directory was placed there for potential future use.
