Do new posts take a while to show up?

I posted a question but its not showing up, do they take a while to show up for new members?

When you register, part of the registration text is a reminder that a new user's first few posts are moderated. This reminder is bolded, but that doesn't help if new users just click through without reading.

Once you are into the forum, at the top of most subforums there is a bolded link to the "rules" (for instance http://forum.codeigniter.com/misc.php?ac...les&fid=24), which remind new users of that too.
