Website in codeigniter with blog and forum

#1
I have a requirement where in I need to create a website with registrations and login for end Users and Vendors. Using the same login they should be able to post comments on blog and forum too. Client wants to use Codeigniter 3.0.

Blog will be tentatively Wordpress based and forum will be PHPbb.

Should the blog and forum be something like Dove / Pyro etc which are based on CI?

Hi, I'm getting mixed messages here.

You want to use CI, but then you are saying the blog should be based on Wordpress and forum on phpBB. So the main site in CI? That means you and/or client needs three logins.

Pyro are based on Laravel and not CI. No idea what Dove are.

As a forum software can be a quite big project you may consider using phpBB as a base, and have all your users stored there. As you can write a custom login on your main site that silently log you into phpBB. And use phpBB groups to grant access to different things.
It all depends if the vendors should have a public user in the forum etc.
