Hello! I have an old project using codeigniter version 1.0.
 it is working great but we want to update it as much as possible ( version 4 could be the goal ) so we can use mysql 8 and php 7 in the new server . 
Is it possible to do without re-doing all the project? Any roadmap to follow to achieve this?

Version 1.0 must be at least 12 years old. I bet even your html and css is outdated. Rewrite everything from scratch. Too much things have changed. Even a CI3 project almost need to be rewritten because there’s a lot of breaking changes in CI4.
