No, this is not about PHP sessions. Please go investigate this: http://aptana.com/jaxer/book and you'll see that it is purely Javascript running on both the server and the client working together to seemlessly deal with your DOM issues of survivability and statefulness. Since the server has access to, and can actually build and deliver the entire DOM, it can also store it prior to the the browser ever displaying it. Therefore, the server has essentially "stored the state" of the browser's view _before_ the browser ever displayed the view.
