Try looking in the system/libraries folder Wink . Ci doesn't use the native $_SESSION array, but instead uses a cookie solution. Either way a session is generated for each user.

Server load can be combated with intelligent hardware solutions.

I didn't mean that to come across as aggressive in any way - I was just trying to supply some real world stats for comparison - my point was just that these sites were built using CI sessions and handled the load impressively, so I can't see what load would be required to cause server issues when doing this.
