Hello community! I've looked on ror and I truely surprised about it! Very very very good framework. I want to hear your opinion on this. Pros/cons? Do you like or not it?

P.S. Thinking about learning RoR.

I'm asking the same question for more than 1 year now Smile !
and here's the result :
- why learning a new language as php can do everything ?
- ROR is a bit easier and human readable than php.
- php resources is much more than ruby's
- it's easy to get php hosting, although ROR is installed on my cpanel server, but it should run on other port than 8080 !
- so, it's better to wait for CodeIgniter 2 or you can learn other php framework such as Symfony 2 / CakePHP / Yii
- If you're planning to learn a new language, why not Actionscript or Python Big Grin ?

Thanks for the good reply! No, I don't want to learn ActionScript or Python. I don't like them :-) I asked this question, because I have one crazy project :-) And I want to hear opinions and thoughts about RoR.

Yeah, I don't have enough time ;-) But, a few months ago I bought "Learning Ruby" from O'Reilly. Great book. Some simple introduction to Rails and Gems. But, I love PHP and don't want to switch from it ;-) As I heard somewhere, why PHP programmers don't want to switch to Ruby/RoR, because of this:
Advanced PHP Programmer -> Ruby Newbie :-)
