What's Easier

I'm making a photography website and need my own members database because forum scripts aren't powerful enough to handle my needs. I was wondering if I should either:

A: Download a free forum like SMF and create a bridge between the two login systems
or
B: Just code everything(including the forum) from scratch and just use the one login system

What do you think would be more efficient and easier?

Just a suggestion - you download fluxbb and adapt this library to your needs. Probably the easiest to do, imo.
