ok, i am slightly confused with the naming convention here... can the modle class name and file name be in name case? ex Home > Home.php or Home class be put in home.php?

Your "home" controller must have the class name "Home" and be saved in application/controller with the filename "home.php". Have a look at the userguide here: http://ellislab.com/codeigniter/user-gui...llers.html
