EXIF library

I need a library that would allow editing the EXIF data of an image. I don't want to reinvent the wheel do, so please share with me if you know of such a library. Thanks!

Thanks. I also looked at its source code at http://github.com/lsolesen/pel but this requires a special PEAR package to be installed (not possible on shared hosting). I was hoping a more independent solution would exist.
